Lyons receives a significant portion of calls for service from their local school system.

The LPD will implement a School Resource Officer (SRO) program with the goals of improving victim services and investigations through specialized training and enhancing collaboration among local stakeholders. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be developed for the SRO that will support the students, faculty, and staff. Through this program, Lyons hopes to improve public safety in the school system.
