Agency Profile

The Franklin County, Virginia, Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has a staff of over 100 personnel (sworn and civilian) serving a population of over 55,000 residents. Much of the violent crime throughout Franklin County directly correlates to narcotics addiction and trafficking, gang involvement, and firearm trafficking.

The FCSO plans to purchase surveillance cameras to increase visibility in rural areas and digital forensic evidence extraction software to improve the agency’s investigative capacity. The FCSO intends for these additions to deter violent and property crime in hot spots throughout the county and increase investigators’ ability to investigate crimes and secure forensic evidence.
