Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative Rural Roundtable VI: Evidence Management and Retention Best Practices

This Rural Roundtable, hosted by the National Policing Institute (NPI), the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), is a collaborative, peer networking opportunity for Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative (RVCRI) grantees to discuss evidence management and retention best practices. Chief Ken Clary shares key considerations from his experience managing, auditing, and overseeing evidence collection, storage, retention, and security as a law enforcement officer. The Webster County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Office, Fort Dodge Community Foundation, and Kent, New York Police Department gave presentations on their RVCRI programs followed by a facilitated discussion based on the presentations and topics from the event.
