Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative Rural Roundtable IV: Engaging with Persons in Crisis

This Rural Roundtable, hosted by the National Policing Institute (NPI), the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), is a collaborative, peer networking opportunity for Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative (RVCRI) grantees to discuss engaging with persons in crisis. NPI Senior Program Manager Mike Hatch shares lessons from his experience engaging with persons in crisis as a former law enforcement officer and developing and providing crisis intervention team training. The Crawford County, Wisconsin, Sheriff’s Office and Mifflin County, Pennsylvania Regional Police Department gave presentations on their RVCRI programs followed by a facilitated discussion based on the presentations and topics from the event.
